sinkas (175), Perth/Fremantle, Australia Jul 12, 2008 On tap Perth Food and Wine Show,
sour and acrid diacetyl and vomit on the nose and on the palate, truly woeful, why serve this at a show?
TinyTim (22), Perth, Australia Sep 21, 2008 I was worried when the head flowed out of the bottle a little, but there was nothing wrong with it. This is a very nice, very subtle, dark lager. The smokey flavour is very light and is complimented by some tasty porter-esque chocolatey malts. Nothing is too heavy or sticks out harshly, and the finish is pleasant. It was not quite what I was expecting but I would imagine this beer is very true to the style, and is surprisingly quite refreshing. gam (679), brisbane, Australia Jul 27, 2008 Medium bubbly head on a red/brown ale carbonation mild.Aroma smokey, malt caramel coconut.Flavour caramel maltiness, choclate is mild, smokeyness is decent, lack of coffee taste.Finish malty mild flavours, good session dark ale. Oakes (7047), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 10, 2008 Golden-brown colour. Vanilla nose with caramel notes. Slightly smokey, toffeeish, tea-like. Fairly thin body with a finish that gets grainy and metallic late. Beershine (1526), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 10, 2008 Bottle, special procurement. Amber color. Not quite a dunkel hue but looks pleasant enough. Lots of rising bubbles. Vanilla-forward nose. Some cream. Sweetish body. thin. Chocolate with metallic hop finish. Solid sweetness is rounded by a mildly hopped finish. Tastes a lot like a cream beer but not a bad effort.
