Aroma is not as offensive - has a bit of a malt kick to it. The appearance is lifeless and dull thoiugh - little to no head and almost colorless - no head. Flavor has an apple juice taste and moutfeel to it - not as fizzy as most low carbs. Has a bit of a malt character to it. Could drink this if medically ordered. You need a chromatograph to be able to detect the fact that it's not colorless. Tart, a little malty, some fruitiness, not much going on in the hops department. I did this back-to-back with Coors Aspen Edge, and I'd say that this didn't have the corn thing going on that the Aspen did, but that it was less hoppy. I guess I prefer this one, but it's a little like asking me if I prefer rattlesnake or iguana. Neither are going to be hamburger, much less steak. "Achsel" is German for armpit, I think. Maybe they just misspelled it 'Accel.' The only thing I can hope is that this will open the door for other Matt brews here in Florida. happy4hops (369), Bel Air, Maryland, USA

The smell is the only redeeming quality. This beer manages to be syrupy and watery at the same time. It tastes like they didn't let it finish fermenting. Don't waste your money on low carb beer. Stick to Miller Lite, which is only moderately awful, if you're avoiding carbs. beastdog75 (337), Brick, New Jersey, USA

Has a little more flavor than Michelob Ultra and Rolling Rock Green Light. Has some fruity taste and aroma, but mostly has a wet paper flavor to it along with some flat selzter water flavor.

Honestly though, I could drink it if need be. If I was going for that whole low carb bullshit - this might be the beer. I like this over Michelob Ultra. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

Very light watered-down applejuice color, with small fizzy 7-up type head. Aroma I would say actually is beerish, sort of sweet corn-inflected malty. Weak, and not really good, but an aroma nonetheless. Flavor is, I kid you not, tonic water pure and simple. I get NOTHING else. Fizzy, very slightly stale finish. OK after this and the Rolling Rock version I'm done with low-carbs unless Westvleteren makes one (oh, but then the world would end so never mind). harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Dec 25, 2003 This truly was not bad for a low carb style beer. This actually had some flavor to it. Light but not too light, and very easy to drink, but there is just nothing to it really, you cannot even tell you are drinking a beer.
