Commercial Description:
An Oatmeal Stout-like Robust Porter. All stouts are porters, after all. Then, what is a porter? A porter is black ale. Roasted and caramelized malts with blackstrap molasses lend a deep chocolaty, coffee, dark and dried fruit and faintly smoky character, all smoothed out with flaked oats. 35 IBUs.

A growler from the brewpub. Very dark, almost black, with a small light tan head. Molasses and coffee aroma. Flavor is molasses, coffee, and chocolate. Feel is thick and smooth but finish was thinner. It also finished with anise and some ashtray smokiness. A stronger finish would have helped but this is an interesting and nice beer.

This was from a rebottled grower pour from strykzone. Poured very dark brown, just a little short of black, with small but thick tan head and light lacing. Nose of roasted malts with aromas of coffee, and ripe fruit. Medium mouthfeel, but very smooth and slick on the palate. Flavor is smoky, with coffee and chocolate. A very nice drinkable porter that I was thankful to get to try. Thanks strykzone!

Carbonated porter/stout. Taste of coffee. Not as thick and chewy as I’d like the porter of this style to be. But drinkable.
