Commercial Description:
Our Coconut Porter is a classic robust porter spiced with all natural toasted coconut. It is black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head. It begins with a malty-toasted-coconut aroma followed by a rich, silky mouthfeel with tastes of dark malt, chocolate, and hints of coffee. It then finishes with flavors of toasted coconut and hoppy spice to balance the finish. 5.5% alc. 32 IBU.

Can shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear dark brown color with a large frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate toasted chocolate malt and coconut aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy coconut sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good complex brew that met my expectations.

12oz can, thanks to fata2683, poured into a trappist glass produced a medium tan head with dark brown, almost black, body. Aroma of coffee and toasted coconut. Taste was dominated by roasted coffee, molasses, and toasted coconut which became more intense as the ale warmed in the glass. Not overly sweet and very enjoyable.

12 oz. can from South Bay Drugs. Pours dark hazy brown with a very small beige head. Aroma of coconut and vanilla extracts, roasted malt, and toast. Flavor of roast, toast, caramel, and another odd coconut-vanilla strain that Shawn said was like Malibu. Smooth, with a medium body and syrupy mouthfeel. This is good, but the odd artificiality I’m getting in the nose and mouth keep it from being special.

Aroma is toasty with lots of coconut, hints of chocolate and coffee. Appearance is dark with a slight white head. Taste is very unique and surprisingly enjoyable, with heavy chocolate and coconut tastes coming through in the end. The palate is smooth. Overall very unique and enjoyable

Can from Hi-Time. Dark brown with nice head. Toasty nose with lots of coconut. Really surprisingly nice. Taste is malty, toasty, not too strong. Than chocolate and coconut kick in at the end. Well done with kudos for microcanning explanation.

5th July 2008. Richer and thicker than most porters. The coconut is a light touch on the palate. Some toasted malt but also slighty creamy. No bitterness at all.

10/29/2009: Maui CoCoNut Porter... Aroma: Rich chocolates; hints of coffee; the coconut pops through; thick Mounds. Appearance: Extremely dark, opaque brown with a small, tan-colored head. Flavor: Toasted coconut and chocolate; roasted malt; Palate: Medium-light; not huge, but very quaffable in large quantities. Overall: Smells and tastes almost just like a Mounds Bar, maybe even Almond Joy...

12 fl. oz. can ( 5.7% ABV) shared by alexsdad06. Thanks Brad! Rating #340 for this beer.

Can: Dark brown with a thin beige head. Sweet aroma with dark chocolate, sweetness, and light roast. Tastes very smooth and chocolatey. Roast, sweet, nutty, and toasty. Some of this has to be the coconut... comes together absolutely great. Differrent and fun. Thanks Jordan.
