Low clingy head and a dark brown color. Smokey roasted nose. Chocolate notes after a thin, sweet malt body. Interesting overall and well balanced.

Dark brown pour with a full creamy textured beige head. Head slowly recededs leaving random lace. Aroma is malt, chocolate and coconut. Palate is moderate in body with a smooth texture. Flavor is mild chocolate, malt with a bit of coconut. Unique and very good. daleharshman (206), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 1, 2010 12 ounce can from BevMo ($10.99 for 4-pack). Pours mostly black with big thick tan head. Aroma of chocolate fudge and cocoa powder, toasted coconut (yes, it’s there), and roasted malt tones. The flavor has more of that rich chocolate fudge, some coffee, and slightly burnt malt notes. Lightly sweet, but I did not get much coconut in the flavor which is unfortunate as I really like coconut. Feels on the light side -- I think there is room here for them to ramp up the ABV and make the thing heavier. And put more coconut in! DarkBeerChick (10), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 1, 2010 Aroma is of coconut with a hint of molasses and chocolate. Dark brown in color with a tan head. Seems to be more carbonated and thinner than most other porters. Tastes of dark chocolate, coffee and a bit of coconut. A little bit of an alcohol start with a slightly hoppy finish. More bitter than I expected. BarZigKin (12), Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 1, 2010 12oz can from mom and dad’s trip to Maui. 1-inch tan head diminishes quickly with no lacing. Not black, maybe burnt toast colored. Roasty, toasty mild alcohol notes on the nose. Slightly sweet, toasted coconut up front and then chocolate malts. A nice, slight bitter coconutty finish leaves you wanting more. Coconut comes to the front as the beer warms up, never overpowering though. Creamy mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Alcohol present in the aroma, but none in the taste. Another great beer from Maui. Big thanks to my parents for the hookup. zdk (274), New York, USA

Nose is chocolate and coconut. Taste is roasted malts, and again the sweet coconut comes through very nicely. Very drinkable and smooth. Excellent execution of a unique idea. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Pours from 12 oz can a dark cola brown with thick, foamy head. The nose is cocoa, roasted malt, and just a hint of coconut. The flavour is toasted malt up front with a touch of chocolate. There is the slightest touch of coconut in the finish, which is also quite dry. Definitely had that Mounds candy character going on, great porter. doboy (206), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA

The aroma is that of the toasted Coconut. I personally am not a Cocoanut fan, but this was appealing. Poured a dark brown color, and allowed some light through. The dark head disipated to the edges. Has a nice choco-coconut taste. Nice mouth feel.
