Nose is chocolate and coconut. Taste is roasted malts, and again the sweet coconut comes through very nicely. Very drinkable and smooth. Excellent execution of a unique idea. Has small hints of coconut in the aroma and chocolate flavor. Texture is creamy with a mild dry finish. Delicious! CelticBrew (713), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA

The nose is cocoa, roasted malt, and just a hint of coconut. The flavour is toasted malt up front with a touch of chocolate. There is the slightest touch of coconut in the finish, which is also quite dry. Definitely had that Mounds candy character going on, great porter. doboy (206), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA

The aroma is that of the toasted Coconut. I personally am not a Cocoanut fan, but this was appealing. Poured a dark brown color, and allowed some light through. The dark head disipated to the edges. Has a nice choco-coconut taste. Nice mouth feel. bozoNZ (507), Christchurch, New Zealand
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Burnt black, red hues. Aroma that gives up woody notes and a little soapy waft. This is great in the mouth. Without knowing it was coconut I would have said it was wonderful anyway but the additions just lift it without making it staid or sickly. Could almost be a sweet stout, dark chocolate and the lovely roasted malt notes shine. I think the can helps too. BelgianBeerGal (1323), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

I liked this porter (dark, bitter, spicey...) but honestly could not pick up on the coconut much...just a faint hint in the aroma and flavour. Guess I’ll have to go back to Hawaii and try it fresh! Just my luck. IlanMan (850), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Updated: Dec 22, 2009Can. Pour was dark brown with a very fizzy body. Aroma was of roasted malt and sweetness. Flavor was mostly roasted with some burntness and chocolate. I tried as hard as I could to get some coconut but was unable to find the taste. It could have been an old beer, so I will have to try another. Otherwise, great porter.
Re rate. I tried this brew from a different six pack and was pleasantly surprised to find a great deal more coconut flavor. The blend was quite nice with the already fine porter beer. I’ve been told that the freshest beers have the most coconut flavor and aroma and I would love to try one of those. Otherwise, find this beer fresh and enjoy it while the flavor lasts. tokyogoat (576), San Diego, California, USA

Nose is great, hefty with cocoa, nice toasted coconut, vanilla, and marshmallow.
Taste is slightly high carbonated, a little thin, fairly astringent with black patent malt, coconut is light, nothing special, actually pretty thin, charred, and lacks the flavors promised on the can.
