harrisoni (5605), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 3, 2007 Cask handpull at King’s Head, Norwich. Copper, lasting beige head. Bit of toast. Like a toasty best bitter. Pretty decent best bitter, nothing spectacular, but cold drink a lot of it. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Jul 10, 2006 Cask conditioned @ Guide Dog, Soton. Light caramel and maltyness. A bit sweet but also thin. Earthy hops dont show to the full. DJMonarch (4091), Northwich, Cheshire, England Feb 12, 2006 1. Cask Handpump at the Crown Inn, Stockport 08/12/2001
Amber coloured bitter and slightly fruity. Dry finish.
2. Cask Handpump at the Lass O’ Gowrie, Manchester 06/02/2004
Golden coloured slightly pale and hoppy. Some dryness in a bitter lasting finish. imdownthepub (4311), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Nov 30, 2005 Cask conditioned at The Rose & Crown, Charlbury. Darkish amber with light head. Particularly sweet malty, lowly flavoured bitter. Fruity and grainy with a quick finish. Thin in body, largely unexiting. chriso (4434), London, Greater London, England Oct 8, 2005 Cask (gravity dispense); Beer #2 at Bedford Beer Festival 2005. Copper colour with a thin white head. Soft, light malt aroma. More mellow malt on the palate, but not a lot of bitterness initially. However, the bitterness grows rather unexpectedly, and assertively, on the finish and in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is quite thin. Overall a straightforward and easy-drinking best bitter. Would have been better if the bitterness had appeared on the scene earlier. Quite refreshing.
