A golden strong ale. A warming fruity flavour dominates and lingers into a dry hoppy finish.

Gold colour, sharp aroma. Initially sharp / citrussy taste, but a smoother / spicy aftertaste. Quite warming. Light on the palate.

Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes. Gold with quite a large white head. Earthy malt aroma with sweet notes as well. Rather nice sweet pear taste with some citrus, quite restrained and subtle. Slight bitterness. Not bad.

A Mes rate: Cask at Baker St. ’Sporks.
Mid golden brown with a decent white head. Creamy malt aroma with some light sweetness and a very delicate earthy note in the background. The barley is quite obvious in the mouth and gives the malt a very slight but enjoyable smoky feel. More earthy and strong nutty notes in the finish eventually leaving some tasty bitter hoppage. A good condition serving from Spoons for once.

Cask at the Plough & Harrow (JDW), Hammersmith. Amber with a creamy white head; orangy grainy aroma; smooth and full bodied and packed with flavour - citrus, honey and an intense burst of bitterness; a clean bitter finish. Excellent.
