Commercial Description:
Crisp and refreshing, Max Gold is a classic Pilsner style lager that has a medium body and a beautiful gold color. Its slight malt sweetness gives way to a complex hop finish, created by a blend of Tradition and Saaz hops.

Pale straw gold body but the head was nothing much. On the nose is crisp, clean hops that are appropriate to the style. The flavor is nice crisp straw malt, a little dry. The hops are just big enough to give it a crisp bite and nothing more. A little sour in the finish.

A lovely larger, enjoyed on various pub crawls. Great when one can’t stand drinking beers like Guiness. Goes down easily.

Draft. Light gold and clear. Light malt aroma, with some corn and slight peppery hops. Huge amounts of noble hops in flavor - peppery and woody, along with some malt. Moderate bitter finish. After reading through some of the other reviews, I think that the brewer is tinkering with the recipe. This version I had was very hoppy, and not too bad. It was a bit unbalanced tho.

Grainy aroma. Flavor has a distinct German character and the hopping builds as you drink it. A very clear gold. Crisp and clean.

Draught. Golden-copper, with medium white head and nice lacing. Lightly malty aroma with some hops. Flavor is grainy and bitter. Very crisp. Nice full bitter flavor, dry finish, grass in aftertaste.

Cottony white head and clear, straw-colored body. Citrusy, pineapple nose with a slight grassy quality and an odd note of ammonia. No detectable diacetyl anywhere to be found. Clean, fairly tart and mostly dry flavor with a somewhat bitter finish. A fair pilsner, but could use a touch of buttery richness.

Draft at pub. Pale gold, decent head. Pleasant floral hop aroma. Some diacetyl in the flavor, over a crackery pils malt, bitter finish. Lacked the promise of the nose. As it warmed, the faintest note of infection became present as well. Too bad, as that is probably what was muting some of the flavor hops along with the diacetyl.

Pours a nice clear golden amber, looks better than the typical American lager. Aroma is pleasant, both hoppy and malty. Flavor is mainly hoppy and has some malt component and a hint of bitterness. This is a lively lager, pleasant to drink, a good companion with lunch.
