Smoky, toasty aroma. Full and rich, it has a burnt toast, coffee, and some dark chocolate flavors, too. Well made and impressive. Sampled at the Great Atlanta Pub Crawl, 2004. Has a rich chocolatey mocha aroma with some hop presence. Body starts sweet with a dry coffee bean finish and caramel malt throughout. Good balance, but could be a bit thicker. Overall a very nice beer though, and one that IMO is more than 6% abv ;) Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA

Very thick bodied. Flavor was chocolate, coffee, mocha, and oatmeal. Yet another great beer on the Atlanta pub crawl! scoobyluv (486), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 23, 2004 Updated: Dec 2, 2006This was on the weaker end of the Imperial Stout style. It lacked the huge fruitiness and other characteristics of the bigger Imperial stouts, but I don’t think that is what it was going for. It came off as a kicked up Dry Irish Stout, and it was very good at doing that. It was dark, but not quite opaque, but it had this dense, generous dark tan head that was just gorgeous. A good amount of roast and chocolate was there. This is quite the tasty stout. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

black, big tan head, light roasted malt aroma, very creamy body, too much roasted bitterness that covers up anything else that may be going on
