Same story with the flavor, but maybe a hint of pear too. Thin. This one needed a fair bit of malt, and was a little dissapointing. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 25, 2005 The menu calls this an IPA. Clear, deep golden body and a fading, tight sudsy head that refused to stand. Aroma of green apple with a note of chlorine and a subdued hop aroma. Not very enticing. Flavor is substantially bitter and rather coarse with insufficient balance. Cleaner bittering hops and some nice aroma hops for dry-hopping would help immensely here. The brewpub isn’t called Max Ales and this beer shows why.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 30, 2005 Tap, downtown Atlanta. Medium gold-yellow hue. (Clearest damn beer I’ve ever seen.) Pine/lemon hops, very light caramel malt...grapes? Lots of oranges. Very fresh smelling, though simple. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter flavor becomes a lightly sweet, moderately bitter finish. Medium body, creamy texture, moderate carbonation. The bottom line is: if you like orangey coladas!... PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 30, 2005 On tap at their Buford, Ga, location. Light copper pour with a white spongy head, enticing grassy, floral aroma. Grapefruity flavor, some mellow nuttiness, nice stickiness. All around a damn good brewpub PA. skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 18, 2004 A fairly light pale, even for the style...looks like your everyday lager. The head is frothy and the first sip is creamy. Nothing can hide the citrus hit that follows. You can clearly tell that more than one hop variety is used, as there is no predominance of pine or citrus. This is a pretty potent (and pretty solid) APA. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 5, 2004 Light gold/dark yellow color with hardly head to speak of. Aroma is citrus and a bit of resin. Taste is more sour than bitter, but picks up a bit in the malty finish. Medium bodied, decent. TheBeerCollector (548), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
