Commercial Description:
Brewed in the”Dreimaischverfahren“(a brewing process) from selected dark malt, our Aiblinger Schwarzbier contrasts with every other dark by the typically fine-spicy malt aroma and the lightly rounded taste. The well-balanced bitter from the Hallertauer aromatic hop creates a wholehearted and, nevertheless, not too sweet taste. A traditional, dark bier, created as it once was, in the finest breweries of Bavaria. The Aiblinger Schwarzbier has been awarded the DLG gold for many years. 12.5°

Bottled. A chestnut colored beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and some bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, bread, malt, and some butterscotch, leading to a bitter and bready finish.

500ml bottle (BeerAngel.de) - shared with Mirjukka - thanks!
Deep brown, off-white head. Stodgy malt aroma, some roast. Decent husks - fairly sweet, but not sticky. Husky and roasty finish. Hops gently pop up occasionally and provide some tingle in the mouth. Pleasantly dry. More dunkel than schwarz. And a good dunkel, at that.

Bottled (Beerangel, BB 07/2009). Dark ruby-brown color, steady creamy beige head, some lace. Grassy aroma with toasted, dark malty background. Flavor has also some grassy hops, base is sweet malty with noteable raisin and molass flavor. Quite smooth mouthfeel, mellow, sweet Schwarzbier which lacks normal chocolate and roasted malty flavors (making it more like a dunkel).

500 ml bottle. From Germany. Dark ruby brown colour with medium beige head. Sweet malty and fruity aroma. Roasted and malty flavour. Dry but some sweetness as well. Quite average but unbalanced Schwarzbier.

Deep dark amber colored with little yellow head. Caramelly and chocolaty aroma with some roastiness, thin perfumy tone also here. Medium bodied. Flavor is also nicely chocolaty with some vegetables, aftertaste dries with some yeasty note. Some cookie in aftertaste with grains and thin roastiness. Good one, though more like a dunkel than schwarzbier for me.

Bottled (from beerangel.de). Deep rubyish amber colour with mediumsized beige foamy head. Aroma is caramel malts, mild wood and also some slight burnt notes. Flavour is sweet caramel malts along with some roasted notes. As it warms up it gets some slight burnt wooden notes as well. Quite dry.

Bottle. Clear medium brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, light chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. (250108)

Bottled. A black beer with a short lived off white head. The aroma is a bit thin; just hints of caramel. The taste has some sweetness. Chocolate notes and coal. It’s an average schwarzbier.
