PJClarke (74), London, Surrey, England Dec 5, 2008 Inpenetrable black with a meek but long lasting off-white foam. Very small aromas of weak coffee and not too much else. Mild, dark roasty flavours but in all honesty bar a tiny amount of hoppiness that seems to be it. Smooth but quite watery. Not really much to this. I can drink it but it really lacks anything to talk about. Quite weak. Ungstrup (11930), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 21, 2005 [Cask at GBBF 2004] A brown beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with notes of licorice and caramel, and so is the flavor. There is lots of licorice in the aftertaste, but the body is thin. An OK beer without being outstanding. chriso (4434), London, Greater London, England Sep 16, 2004 A powerful, mahogany coloured mild. A rare strong mild. Lots of coffee and roast malt. Full mouthfeel. Has some stout-like qualities. Very impressive. Cask at GBBF 2004.
