(Cask at Market Porter, Southwark, London, 2 Dec 2007) Dark brownish ruby colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with dark fruit, chocolate and toffee. Malty taste with notes of dark fruit, coffee and chocolate on a solid malt foundation. Notes of dusty hops in the finish. Fairly dry, complex, but with great balance. Very nice beer.

Gravity, Dover BF. Dark copper with a persitant cap of tan. Open grassy field aroma, just a touch of farm. Borders on something off, but not quite. Chewy caramel flavor, soft brown roast. A little metalic but not in bad way. A touch of astringency, but in a way that gives some closure to each sip. Interesting.

Dover Beer Fest - 2007. Very sugary with Belgian character - possibly as a result of the sugary nature. A slide of clean steel before introducing a good English hop bite. Good dark fruit, but too sugary for me.
