In fact, all I can make out is: ’’great’’ and ’’some smoke’’. But I can still read the numbers at least. NachlamSie (1637), Tennessee, USA

Lots of spices here like nutmeg, coriander, and clove. A honey sweetness is noted along with bubblegum and lots of flowery scents. This is pretty sweet, but not to the point of being excessive. A distinct oak flavor sort of makes me think of a Scotch ale, but I’d never make that connection on my own. Hints of raisins, port, nutmeg, coriander. . .this almost has a quad feel to it. The mouthfeel is medium with sporadic spritzy patches on my palate. This is pretty darn good, I’m impressed with the Chouffe lineup thus far. fata2683 (860), Panama City, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 26, 2008 75cl poured into a pint glass. Nice light brown with red tints. Light beige head. Smells nice and yeasty with some alcohol on the nose. Good flavors of candied sugar, light carmel, finishes with a sharp bitterness that fades to a light alcohol end. The moderate to heavy carbonation works well and keeps the mouth crisp with the flavors popping. The end feels slightly creamy. Excellent head retention and a very nice beer. mirjukka (702), LOHJA, Finland

If this is a scotch ale, I’m a dutchman. Deep orangy red, brief fizzy head. Winey grapey aroma, some apple and raisin. Fizzy palate, sweet and thin, almost watery. More yeast adds a bit of apple. Quite alcoholic for 8%. Sweet and a bit slushy. santos999 (318), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 20, 2008 Dark ruby brown with a very little white head. Strong caramel aroma with chocolate, coffee, toffee and candi sugar notes coming to mind. Strong chocolate and caramel taste with bready and grainy notes. Quite a potent taste! Long crisp lager finish..
