Pours a beautiful big head that falls into a small persestant head and leaves a strong lacing in it’s path. The color is dark and burgandy-purple, very hard to see through. Smell is sour with dark fruit tones. You can smell the Belgian very nicely. The taste is not overpowering, it’s delightful. It feels like silk in my mouth and leaves a wonderful aftertaste. I really enjoyed this beer.

750ml bottle - pours a medium ruby red, ruddy brown color with medium sized light tan head. Aroma has slightly toasted caramel, notes of raisens, dates, vanilla, cream, toasted marshmellow, pear, slight roasty notes. Flavor has fair amount of chewy malts, light caramel, raisens, tart cherries, hint of grains of paradise. Finish is mildly sweet.

Dark Fruit nose with some alcohol. Not what I think of when tasting a Scotch Ale. No smokeyness. This might sound different, but I think of tequila when drinking. Clean finish.

Not what I expected at all. Pours a cloudy dark brown color with a creamy foamy tan head. Smells of sour wheat and tastes like wheat, sugar, and raisens. The beer is somewhat watery and soft and I would have never guessed that this was 8.5. Alcohol is well hidden and refreshing. This is a scotch ale?

750 ml bottle. Pours a murky muddy brown with visible carbonation running up the side of my Duvel tulip and an above average size frothy bubbly off white head. Yeasty aroma with notes of bread and raisin. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a dry bread like feel on the palate but the alcohol is hidden nicely. Flavor of yeast, bread and slight vinous notes on the back of the throat. Not really sure why this is a Scotch Ale other then becaue it’s called Mc, actually as a Scotch Ale it should be Mac Chouffe!!

This seems a little overated. The best thing about this particular brew is the smell. Nice resiny odor. Not sweet enough, so the alcohol comes thru too much. The body is light. Texture is thin. Lively carbonation. Astringent finish.

Gekocht in de Ardennen. Een gewoon bruin bier geen alcohol smaak.

0.75L bottle. Murky brown with orange taints. Complex aroma featuring strong malt and yeast accompanied by peach, apricot, banana, Vanila and some roasted coffee as the beer warms up. After this, the taste is a crushing dissapointment. The alcohol is cloying and completly overpowers anything else leaving nothing else but a some sweetness. When the effect of the alcohol wears off, leaving a pleasant sweet and sour sensation.
