| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 25, 2007 Pours with a nice moderate tan, short-lived head. The color is a very deep brown, ruby-like, translucent but bright. The scent is definitely earthy, somewhat pungent but also very malty and sweet. Oh yeah, it tastes amazing. Very distinct, with a somewhat peaty scottish ale taste. lLots of malt, a bit of sweet and a nice rounding nutty complexity. There are just so many flavors its hard to list them all. Overall, a wonderful beer, the brasserie d’Achouffe continues to amaze me. Rvrndmaynard (47), Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, USA
