Spicey caramel aroma, sour, earthy, strawberries and cream. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Fruity, caramel, hints or sour fruit, very smooth.

Aroma: mm, soy, sourish... yummy, earthy, malt... rotting strawberries. Vaguely acrid... caramel, some hops.
Appearance: very deep red-brown,...beige head. Pretty nice... apetizing.
Flavour: candisugar, some fruity acidity, mushroomy, chervil, nutty aftertaste.
Palate: pretty good but simple. Slightly harsh.

Pours with a nice moderate tan, short-lived head. The color is a very deep brown, ruby-like, translucent but bright. The scent is definitely earthy, somewhat pungent but also very malty and sweet. Oh yeah, it tastes amazing. Very distinct, with a somewhat peaty scottish ale taste. lLots of malt, a bit of sweet and a nice rounding nutty complexity. There are just so many flavors its hard to list them all. Overall, a wonderful beer, the brasserie d’Achouffe continues to amaze me.

On tap at Mile Square in Hoboken. Dark brown color, sweet and malty. Great beer all around, but i think it is better off the tap than in the bottle.

Oh man, really, really good. A scotch ale done right is so good, and this is awesome. I think I’ve had this before and just never rated it.
