ScoWRee (275), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 12, 2007 Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of bubble gum...Taste is sweet, yeasty, malty. Intresting. Moz (613), Gothenburg, Sweden Apr 10, 2007 Bottle, 75cl. Dark brown colour with a tan head. Malty aroma with a sourish scent. Sweet malty flavour with notes of yeast & alcohol. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 8, 2007 bottle at a tasting. not bad. i just thought it was supposed to be a darker, maltier La Chouffe. which it kinda is. definitely mostly sweet malts, a bit thicker, less alcohol. still belgian yeast esters. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Apr 2, 2007 11.2 oz bottle - Pours reddish brown with a moderately sized, foamy head. The aroma is sweet, yeasty, and has some caramel. The malty flavor has some good dark fruit notes hiding in there. It’s medium bodied and goes down easy at 8.5% abv. I hadn’t pegged this as a Scotch Ale as the Belgian character is definitely there. I suppose it’s a hybrid of sorts. Good beer. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Apr 1, 2007 The color was a nice plum/brown with red hues. The head was a creamy frothy light beige. The aroma was hoppy, tart, and a little bit earthy. The flavor was alcohol, slightly bitter, and earthy. The palate was thin/med bodied and smooth. The finish was clean.
