Pours a dark brown with a nice lacing off-white head. Spicy more so in scent than in flavor. Hints of fruit and earthy yeast.

From the SAQ. Dark brown with a huge mocha head. Aroma is malty with notes of alcohol and yeast. Taste is pretty sweet, with a lot of caramel, spices, yeast and biscuits. Full body.

Hazy Amber with fine white head. Malty aroma and taste - nuts & dark fruits dominates. Sweetness. A bit "earthy". Little alcohol feel. Pleasant spicy hoppy finish. Good Belgium!

33 cl bottle. Best by end of 2006. The beer pours to a hazy dark brown body with no head. The aroma is very earthy, nutty, yeasty, minerals, wood, and some sort of peat. The flavor is peaty, woody, nutty, earthy, minerals, and something strange. But, all in all it tastes decent. Strangely alluring.

Draft at Duck Island. Pours a clear mahogany with a huge fuffy white head. With La Chouffe already under my belt I was prepared to love this beer, but there just isn’t nearly as much here. To be fair, I have to admit that I tried it right after a pretty amazing DIPA, but still... not much here. A bit of toffee and wood in the nose. The taste is sweet with caramel malt, and a bit of fruit and nuts. I’m thinking these guys should stick to Belgians and the occasional Belgian IPA.

Dark brown beer withbeige foam. Aroma is malty with spices, medicines burned caramellesause and dry figgs. Taste is powerfol, and stays long in the mouth. It is sweet and has burned and fruity tastes. It ends with a hard bitterness of hops and spices Kruidnagels ?
