Even better from draft. Unfortunally not as widely available as La Chouffe. Rustic, like a abbay double. Nice herbal and caramel taste. Real comfort drink. Visit www.achouffe.be or better the brewery.

Pours brown with foamy offwhite head. Aroma is sweet malt and yeast. Taste is fruity, nutty, earthy, slight banana, and sugar. Nice warming finish.

Pours a deep russet brown with a foamy, soapy, off-white head. Aroma is warming with notes of dark malts, brown sugar and toffee. The body is medium and lush. The flavors are caramelly, oh-so-balanced, chocolate with a ton of heat that really detracts from the overall experience. Maybe needs a few years.

1 pint 9oz bottle. Pours a dark, reddish-brown murky body with an off-white substiantial head that has lasting power. Leaves beautiful lacing on the glass for an extended time. Smells of bread dough, alcohol and very sweet malts. The taste starts with a nice fruity zing (mostly bananas) with a large presence of general sugary sweetness. Then the strong alcohol taste hits, and lasts awhile. It tastes better with each passing sip. It’s fairly bubbly, yet suprisingly silky smooth and only slightly puckering to the palate. A great beer, and it’s only real drawback is the price.

Pours red brown with a dwindling generous loose offwhite head. The nose is sweet with that Belgian apple tartness and a good measure of darker though not roasted malts and some vanilla. There’s not a lot of complexity, just nice and clean. The mouthfeel is pleasant, though a bit lacking in body and carbonation--making this an easy drinker, but not particularly amazing in the mouth. The flavors are really very pleasant. A bit of that Belgian tartness, but also huge chocolate with touches of vanilla. Creamy, with a hint of smoke and some gentle floral hopping. Perhaps a bit too sweet. The alcohol is just at the point of being detectable. I enjoyed this and I’d certainly drink more if it were cheaper (and available in 6ers).

Looks nice, Dark orange-brown color with a big dense white head. Dark fruits, spice, chocolate and hops in the flavor and aroma (which are similar). Some vanilla in the aroma. Something metallic in the flavor.

Pours medium brown with a big off white head, lots of carbonation. Light smelling aroma with a slight nutty smell. Not getting much from the aroma. Flavor is mostly nutty and light roasted malt. Not a bad taste or aroma, it’s just very subtle and makes you wanting more. Decent beer, but not worth the price tag.
