Jul 10, 2006 That commercial description is pretty short and lame. It’s much more that that. This is a wonderful brew! Deep and chewy. Malty nice, like I like.

Jul 6, 2006 Sweeter than I expected it to be. Very nice malty character throughout the beer with some hops in it but not much. Spicy on the palate with plenty of alcohol present. Good beer and one I am going to keep an eye out for.

Jun 28, 2006 [bottle] Brown amber color, with a relentless, fluffy head. Aroma is alcohol, and sweet sugar. Flavors are yeast, nutty malts and a slight bitterness. A unique take on the Scotch style- I like it a lot.

Jun 28, 2006 Dark brown/amber color, sweet malty/nutty aroma... flavor was spicy, nutty, malty...maybe even slightly hoppy (unexpectedly so). The alcohol wasn’t all that well-hidden, which isn’t necessarily a negative aspect for me...overall it was a thoroughly enjoyable beer.

Jun 25, 2006 Dark amber color with a light brown head. Sweet caramel and molassas aroma. Flavor of sweet fruit, some molassas notes, and mild spices.

Jun 11, 2006 Poured a reddish brown color with a nice initial head that laced well. Aroma was spicey, dark fruits, a bit medicinal. The flavor was of raisins, caramel malts, yeast, nuts, spices, and a touch of grass. Not your usual Belgian style beer, not a Scottish Ale. Not a great beer. Mouthfeel was moderately bodied with some carbonation. Overpriced beer for sure.

Jun 6, 2006 Mondial de la Bière de Montréal; This is one of the best Scotch Ale I ever drank. Nice brown color with foamy head. Taste of caramel and just the good tint of spice.

May 24, 2006 WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Deep amber/brown pour. Huge frothy, foamy, light, light brown head. I had to wait for the head to sink n the middle. Lacing completely covered the glass. Aroma was flat out earthy and malty. Flavor was earthy, malty, airy, and light. As it warmed I got notes of apple, orange and spices of cinnamon and all spice, especially in the aftertaste! Medium to full bodied. Alcohol well hidden. So smooth to drink. The was the BEST brew i’ve had in a while!!!
