Medium brown colour with a thick, billowy head. Aroma of yeast, wood, prunes, figs, toffee and bog myrtle. Spicy, yeasty tones overly a rich toffeeish, earthy maltiness. Sweet demerara and deglet noor finish. Sturdy alcoholic punch comes in late. Quality brew, and after 2 years in the cellar it emerges as a world classic.

2007-11-09, draught at Den Tatoverede Enke, Copenhagen, 6-3-7-3-14=33
Dark brown color. Chocolatey aroma and chocolate+caramel flavor, drier than expected. Good without thrills.

2003-06-28, bottle, 8-5-8-4-15=40
Dark red-amber color; persistent head. Very nice malt nose, and malt body, with some liquorice. Dryer than we may guess.

Dark brown with medium tan head. Aroma is moderately sweet, malty, raisin, anise. Taste is sweet, caramel, raisin, yeasty. Finishes with strong alcohol warming. Fairly carbonated, and a pretty full body.

75cl bottle from Belgium. Very red brown colour with beige thickish head. Lovely smell of rich malt and red berries. Some yeast and strong belgian ale aromas. Good in mouth. More rich malts and berries on the end. Lovely

Bottled 0,75 ltr (BBE 2007)
Red-nut brown color, small steady beige head. Nose has alcohol, caramel, anise and light roasted malts. Liquerish, medium-bodied. Mouthfeel is a mix of carbonation (a bit too much, CO2 makes loud sound too :)) and alcohol. Flavor has yeast, sugar, malts, some fruits (raisins) and wood. Dry woody, slighly alcoholic aftertaste. Maybe not a pure "Scotch Ale", more like Belgium strong ale.
