Pours brown with ruby edges when held to light. Large beige head with good retention. Aroma of caramel biscuits, malt extract and fresh fruit. Sweet malty flavour, though very well balanced all the way through. Hops there, but just enough. I actually prefered this to the La chouffe.

750ml bottle from the Pizza Port bottle shop in Carlsbad. The beer was way to cold when I started on it. As it warmed, everything improved dramatically. Poured a muddy brown color with a good sized beige head. Not a big nose but, hints of clove spice, caramel, and some dark fruits. Creamy mouth feel with a slight tingle. Next time I will start this brew off at around 55 instead of 40 degrees.

sweet cherry-fiz-coco-sweet aroma, I poured it right but the head was 3 times as big as the beer and had to wait a lifetime for it to settle down, the light had trouble trying to squeeze itself through the brownish presence of this brew, by the time it settled down the head was a clumpy milky off-white color and frothy, the aroma was now filled with alcohol, sourness, and a bit nutty and sweet, flavor was smooth, sweet and carmel like, alcohol undertones with spicy overtones, powerful finish that gave me a headrush every sip, powerful but good none the less

Bottle from Whole Foods. Pours a deep ruby color. Moderate slightly dirty looking head. Aroma is slightly sweet with some dark fruits, yeast and dirt. Slighty sweet vinous/sugar flavors up front. Somewhat spicy with alcohol in the finish. More like a Dubbel or a dark BSA. Fairly rich.

Dark brown color, tall tan head, seems highly carbonated.Fruity aroma with hints of alcohol and hops, and mild malt. The taste was quite good malty well carbonated and fruity with a mild spice to it.This doesn't seem much like a scottish ale with this much carbonation and it doesn't have the body to fit the style IMO,but still its a fine brew and the price is right for the size bottle it comes in.
