Smells of sour wheat and tastes like wheat, sugar, and raisens. The beer is somewhat watery and soft and I would have never guessed that this was 8.5. Alcohol is well hidden and refreshing. This is a scotch ale? Sully (1367), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia

The dry hop presence offsets the malt flavour and then mellows to be a fine resinous ale. Scottish? Well ok, but the Belgian character comes through. RE-RATE: All of the above and then some. This is an excellent beer that toally belies its alcoholic content. Dorqui (1361), Brescia, Italy

A lot hazy dark brown color. Dense and extremely bubbly one. Much bulky and supporter head, optimal persistence. Elegant aspect. Much rich and spiced scent; notes of humid forest, spices like pepper and marjoram, smoked malt (light). Much racy and prickly taste, enough dense and solid one with a sweet and harmonious final. A lot fruity with main notes of dark grapes and small fruits. Determined but most pleasant alcohol tenor. Without excesses.

Head doesn’t last too long. A subtle beer that finishes clean and is easy on the palate. Sweet with a good sense of malt and hops. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA

Brown sugar, dark fruit, raisins, caramel, spice, pepper, earthy flavors, and a bit of chocolate. Quite tasty with a medium silky body and moderate carbonation. boto (1345), Granby, Connecticut, USA

It died off rather quickly, however. It is a fairly opaqur brown color. The nose was nice, with notes of caramel, yestiness and fruits, although there was a slight hint of a peatiness. The taste has a bit of a roasty taste and dryness that wans’t expected. A bit of the peatiness in the taste also, as well a a bit of caramel and smokiness. Interesting... biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 14, 2005 Muddy brown with floating chunks and a lively tan head. Caramel bread aroma. Earthy amd woody flavors with brown bread. Quite spritzy. Interesting interpretation. Few of the distinguishing characterestics of a scotch ale. Not bad though.
