Very mild, caramely aroma. Flavor of caramely malt and dark toffee, with some hop bitterness and a touch of ash. Medium body, pretty high but soft carbonation. Not as nice in a small bottle, but still ok.
(Bottled, 0.75l, was 6-3-8-4-17=3.8) Muddy, dark brown color. Light, malty and fruity aroma. Flavor is exactly like banana-chocolate ice-cream. Alcohol tastes through a bit, and there’s quite a lot of carbonization. This is a beer that tingles in your tongue. Rciesla (3750), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Cloudy red, huge rocky tan head, leaving plenty of lace. Medium body, berries, cork (not from the bottle though - only had a cap). Relatively light body, sparkly mouthfeel. Honey and oak retronasal. egajdzis (3629), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA

Spicy, fruity, slightly malty aroma. Dark fruits, and sweet caramel are prominent in the taste. Hard carbonated mouthfeel, but I too, would classify this as a dubbel. saxo (3616), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 26, 2005 A nice Belgian Scotch ale. Dark colour, with a large fluffy off white head atop. The nose was full of dark stone fruit, spice, and intrigue, the palette was lively and brought out the spicy side of things a bit more. A bit of caramel also going on I think. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

Lots of nuttiness and some toasted husk flavor. This definitely seemed more like the description on the bottle (brown ale) than a Scotch Ale. gunnfryd (3601), Kristiansand, Norway
