Jan 21, 2004 Medium head, dark brown color, spicy and malty aroma. Taste is fruity but a lot spicy too. This one was good but not as much as La Chouffe. But anyway I'm glad I tried it.

Dec 15, 2007 750ml bottle - pours a medium ruby red, ruddy brown color with medium sized light tan head. Aroma has slightly toasted caramel, notes of raisens, dates, vanilla, cream, toasted marshmellow, pear, slight roasty notes. Flavor has fair amount of chewy malts, light caramel, raisens, tart cherries, hint of grains of paradise. Finish is mildly sweet.

May 20, 2006 Cloudy brown color with a large ivory head. Aroma is a combination of yeast, spice, and oranges. Smooth with toffee malt flavors and an underlying acidity. Nicely balanced with the malt being accompanied by sweet fruit, yeast, and spice.

Jul 19, 2003 Rating number 400! This brew pored a vaery large creamy head of finely sized light brown bubbles that was mostly lasting. It has a softly carbonated semi transparent brown body and a heavenly malty aroma. Its mouthfeel is slightly tingly at first then fades into a noticeable mild alcohol burn as the flavor of spices, roasted caramel malts and vinuos alcohol notes kick in. Its mild kick starts to set in after just a few sips.

Nov 30, 2003 Poured a cark amber color with a medium sized off white heard and some lacing on the glass. Spicy, fruity, slightly malty aroma. Dark fruits, and sweet caramel are prominent in the taste. Hard carbonated mouthfeel, but I too, would classify this as a dubbel.

Jul 21, 2004 On tap. Pours a dark brown color with pillowy tan head. Aroma is spicy and malty, hints of citrus and caramel. Flavor is very balanced, rich malty, hints of scotch, molasses, quick finish. All around well made and enjoyable beer, exactly what you expect for a Belgian take on Scotch ale.
