Very nice malty character throughout the beer with some hops in it but not much. Spicy on the palate with plenty of alcohol present. Good beer and one I am going to keep an eye out for. marcus (1896), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 9, 2006 This reddish brown ale poured with a lacy tan head, eliciting a malty aroma. The flavor is spicy toasted malt with a slightly smoky finish and a heavily carbonated mouthfeel. The taste mellows as the beer warms, resulting in a very satisfying drink. jefcon (1007), Arlington, Virginia, USA

Vinuous, grape bubblegum, dark cherry, currant, vanillin and popcorn aromas. Bright, oaky malts, nutty, with a savory fruit finish. Tight carbonation. Maybe a little short on palate. A delicate scotch ale. pintbypint (1017), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 9, 2007 The 750ML bottle poured a deep brownish ruby red beverage with a huge frothy cream colored head that settled to a small creamy head that was completely lasting and left good lacing on the glass. The aroma was characteristic of a Belgian strong ale ... pungent, fruity and spicy notes caress the senses with hints of leather, malt and cotton candy hiding in the recesses of the palate. The body was full with soft carbonation and a smooth, creamy texture. The flavor started out sweet and stayed that way throughout the long finish. There is a subtle alcohol warmth at the end as well. dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

A most smooth ale that reeks of chocolates and toffees in a way quite unlike a porter or a stout. A great sampler and a great beer TheBeerOrg (1586), Kentucky, USA
