A slightly spicy flavor and a good smooth finish. Be careful as the high alcohol is not obvious and after a couple you’ll certainly feel it. fraternie (710), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Some woody flavor in the malt, but it finishes poorly. jerohen (1614), Bussum, Netherlands

Aroma of caramel biscuits, malt extract and fresh fruit. Sweet malty flavour, though very well balanced all the way through. Hops there, but just enough. I actually prefered this to the La chouffe. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 29, 2004 Dark mahogany color with a good head and lacing, just right for the style. Enough carbonation to keep my chimay glass busy with it’s bubblicious column of aromomatic generation. The aroma has is lightly malty like a scotch but has a definate belgian quality to it. A bit of sweet malts and vinous hops. The flavor has a good amount of alcohol with some dark malts and tart toffee. Finishes very belgian with some bottle conditioned yeasyness and a little tart kick. Not too bad, unique scotch for sure though.
