Pours mahogany in color, decent white head fades to film. Very bready, yeasty aroma, some light fruit in the background. Flavor is very subdued malt with dark fruits and slight spice in the finish. Very dry finish.

Nice beer. Doesn’t rank up in the top Belgians. I agree with the other person who said that. A great looking beer. Looks too much like St. Bernardus 12. The flavor is not very strong. Comes up a bit short in my book. The aroma is more present then the taste. I’m glad I had this and I look forward to more of the beers from Achouffe.

Poured a reddish brown amber with a large foamy lighter tan head that laced. Aroma was a bit spicy, a lighter roastiness, dark fruits and yeast. Flavor of the same with a light hint of citrus.

Brownish colour with a frothy white head. Aroma of fruit, spices and malt. Sweet taste of malt and fruits. Great beer.

Deep chestnut-brown hazy hue, with a lacy head, spicy, malted-caramel, burnt brown sugar aromas, follow through a medium-bodied palate, with some fruity notes of prunes, dates, raisins, with a dark chocolate and caramelized malt note, and a hint of porto, in a soft warming malted finish

Dark brown beer withbeige foam. Aroma is malty with spices, medicines burned caramellesause and dry figgs. Taste is powerfol, and stays long in the mouth. It is sweet and has burned and fruity tastes. It ends with a hard bitterness of hops and spices Kruidnagels ?

im not really sure what to think. It was good but not really impressive. Definately lacking complexity, especially when compared to the latrappe dubbel i had afterward.

Very pleasant taste and aroma. Nice and dark with a lightly syrupy body. Rocky head, plenty of malt and caramel, a bit lighter than a traditional scottish ale, but overall a worthy representative of the style.
