| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 23, 2009 75 cl bottle. Dusty, moldy, vegetal aroma with some caramel. Medium to dark brown color. Flavor of caramel and vegetables. The Scotch ale aspect is rather subdued under a farmhouse flavor, and the two don’t really blend together well. alobar (1035), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 20, 2009 Aroma of banana, caramel, and some hops. Pours a dark brown with a soapy off-white head. Head quickly disappears. Adequate lacing. Flavors of dark fruit, banana, and caramel malts. Too sweet for a scotch ale. Nice beer though. Beardface (1036), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 15, 2009 750 ml bottle picked up by my friend James. Interesting brew to be sure, like a cross between a Scotch Ale and a Belgian Strong Dark. Pours out a deep brown with a bubbly tan head that fades quickly into some thick lacing. Aroma is all over the road, featuring chocolate, belgian yeast, earthy hops, dark fruit. Flavor is just as spastic, with belgian yeast, brown sugar, peat, earthy hops, chocolate and dark fruit. This is a very strange beer, but I quite enjoyed it. Always nice to see brewers experimenting with hybrid styles. Rynoplasty (544), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Pours amber brown with an off white head. Aroma is banana and sugary caramel malt. Flavor is dark fruits, caramel and hints of banana. Good stuff. Vaiz (142), Netherlands
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Pours a clear dark ruby red color with a foamy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, roasted malt and wood. Flavor of licorice and mint, yet dry and bittersweet and with a hint of alcohol. not much carbonation and a long dry finish. Somehow a bit off balance, or just not my thing. PWheatley (47), , Quebec, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2009 75cl bottle shared with Duff_Man while we cleaned bottles. It poured a hazy brown with a slight head. The aroma was malty with caramel present. The taste was a typical Brown Ale with a fizzy carbonation. Much better than the Quebec RJ version but still not high on my list of beers. jameswolfe (142), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Meh pretty boring ale. Had at JKO and was pretty dissapointed. It does not have a perticularly strong aroma but it does have some nice malts and a non-existant finish. proesti (56), Lille Nord, France
