Deep amber body with a small but tenacious off-white foamy head. Aroma of crystal malt with notes of caramel and pungent hops. No slouch for flavor: malt and crystal malt dominate with notes of molasses, hops, and treacle. Hops and molasses express in the finish. Credit or credit due for not being offensive. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 14, 2009 A nice dark red beer with a small tan head and thin, minor lacing. Nose: sweet, raspberry / peach, weak caramel and slight hops make this refreshing right off the get go. The taste is also somewhat sweet with a nice malt content and balanced bitterness which kept this tasting fresh throughout. Tingly and on the light side for body - not really much here to entice but it’s decent overall. Diogène (584), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
