341 mL Bottle sampled Dec 23, 2009. Deep amber body with a small but tenacious off-white foamy head. Aroma of crystal malt with notes of caramel and pungent hops. No slouch for flavor: malt and crystal malt dominate with notes of molasses, hops, and treacle. Hops and molasses express in the finish. Credit or credit due for not being offensive.

Nice sweet an balanced, present hop character, good crisp-biscuit malt, very tasty stuff.

Tap@Resto-Bistro Saint-James, Quebec City. Red beer with a light head. The aroma is very lightly dry and yeasty, and the flavour is watery, dry and yeasty. Overall a very weakly flavoured beer.

A nice dark red beer with a small tan head and thin, minor lacing. Nose: sweet, raspberry / peach, weak caramel and slight hops make this refreshing right off the get go. The taste is also somewhat sweet with a nice malt content and balanced bitterness which kept this tasting fresh throughout. Tingly and on the light side for body - not really much here to entice but it’s decent overall.

Bottle. Dark brown with a medium foamy off-white head. Good retention and great lacing. Aroma is toasted malt, nuts, and a touch of chocolate. Flavor is toasted malt, nuts, and a bit of caramel with moderate hops. Medium body.

Bottle. A dark amber brown coloured ale. Head is dense and creamy, off-white. Aroma is nutty with some caramel, chocolate. Mouthfeel is light, a bit watery. There’s really a fair bit of lace on the glass. I taste caramel, light hops, water, some distant berries, cocoa powder.

Bottle 05.30.09. Pours dark brown, off white head. Aroma is nutty, malty, and metallic. Flavor is the same with caramel sweetness. I would drink this again.
