ClarkVV (3559), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Mar 11, 2005 2004 or early 2005 bottle. Pours a bright yellow color, like melting butter, with a firm, lightly creamy white head, good retention. Aroma smells floral, with orange blossom honey, herbal hops, doughy brown bread and sugary dextrin malts. Flavor begins with a sweetness that is truly sublime. Sweet and chewy, but not cloying or syrupy. Honey, pale malt, vanilla yogurt (that’s stretching it, I know). Fruity yeastiness is divine in this! It reminds me more of a Belgian yeast than an English one (which I assume is what they use). A bit of herbal hops through the middle, light bitterness on the end, but the malt stays with you the whole time. These guys sure are good with malting! Reading beerhugger’s review, I have to agree, there is some "skunkiness" to it, but I love it! It’s a lightly sour fruitiness that works perfectly to offset the malt sweetness. Medium body is NOT watery (my bottle wasn’t, that’s for sure) and the carbonation, while present just adds light texture. I see everyone else’s score, but what can I say? The right beer at the right time? Who knows. . . mkobes (2066), paramus, New Jersey, USA Nov 23, 2003 Very tasty. Had it out of a bottle, really enjoyed it. Pleasant fruity aroma. Clean hop flavor. Pleasant to drink. Ondrej must have mistaken this one for another - not a cheap beer- it has arather good balance with good maltiness for a pale and hops. I’d drink this one anytime. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA Apr 29, 2002 Yes, this one’s great. I really liked the mildness. Can’t taste the ringwood yeast.
