DerWeg (748), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 9, 2009 Drank 15º C. Immediately sexy wine-like and enjoyable. Aromas of sweet malt mingled with spice and warm squashy aroma. Very different layers of flavor going on, with almost a tiny bit of gueuze-like beautiful musty sour feel over the late finish. Also some cola, citrus, spice. Not as "pie-like" as the others, and shows less grassy hops (which ordinarily fight the added spices). Could certainly be pumpkin in there, sure... but this is irrelevant, what we’ve got is a very seriously tasty beer. Buy shiploads if you see it.

Spab (236), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 3, 2009 341 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a dark, clear copper colour with fizzy, quickly disappearing off-white head. Nice spicy aroma of pumpkin, nutmeg, allspice and cinnamon. Same spices very prominent in flavour with pumpkin more in background along with caramel malt. Crisp, dry finish with lingering spiciness. A nice fall beer. cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA Oct 2, 2009 Typical pumpkin ale with the usual spice profile. Smells like pumpkin and allspice. Chestnut body with a thin head and very minimal lacing. Light to medium bodied, spicy and sweet. Caramel, pumpkin, nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. Standard for the style. tmoreau (525), Lombard, Illinois, USA Oct 2, 2009 Sampled at a Mead, Cider, and Beer Tasting sponsored by Binny’s Beverage Depot in Glen Ellyn, IL. Poured to my wine/sampler glass a clear, deep brownish amber with off white, fine bubbled foam and fair lacing. The aroma was caramelly sweetness and pie spices, with nutmeg high lighted. The flavor added to these a complimenting dryness, but the body was somewhat thin. Liked the deeper than average hue than most other pumpkin ales offer. pintbypint (1002), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Sep 26, 2009 341ml brown bottle. Orange colour, thin white cap. Sweet nose, caramel, cinnamon. Has a toasty malts flavour, caramel sweetness, cloves. Dry finish with some mineral character. Some clovey aftertaste. Medium body with crisp carbonation. Pleasant fall brew. Eructoblaster (1477), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Sep 15, 2009 Bottle - 341ml. Limpid amber body with heavy carbonation and a decent off-white foamy/bubbly head. Malty/hoppy aroma with ginger and cinnamon hints. Taste is well balanced, but it lacks strength and complexity. It carries some spicy notes. Pumpkin flavors are barely detectable. Ends with a decent bitter/spicy finish. Interesting autumn ale. JulienHuxley (165), Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada Sep 11, 2009 I really enjoy this seasonal classic. Nutmeg and clove dominate the aroma with a bit of brown sugar. Taste is more of the same spices and it is here you get the pumpkin vegetable taste. It has a smooth palate with very little carbonation and medium body.
