pretty nice spiced ale. aroma and flavour of cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger etc. what you would expect to taste in a pumkin pie. no actual pumkin in the brew though. a great fall beer.

Bottle thanks to Gregclow. Pours Orange brown with tiny head and no visible carbonation. Aroma: Pumpkin, cinnamon, all spice, candy. Nice aroma. Some nutmeg too. Flavour: Initial citron but then a definite and pleasant pumpkin spice flavour with a dry and lingering nutmeg finish. Very enjoyable. Thanks Greg.

Brown bottle, 341 ml, gift from Karl Probst, savoured on October 9 2007; eye: orangey with a reddish hue, clear, light effervescence, tiny ring of beige head, no lacing; nose: malt, caramel, spices, bubblegum; mouth: surprisingly thin, nutmeg, "pumpkin", a big thick layer of caramel, finale in "pumpkin" where the clove is quite present, lightly sweet, slightly bitter, quite carbonated; overall: ordinary FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 341 ml, cadeau de Karl Probst, savourée le 9 octobre 2007; œil : orangée avec une teinte rougeâtre, claire, légère effervescence, petit anneau de mousse beige, pas de dentelle; nez : malt, caramel, épices, gomme balloune; bouche : curieusement mince, muscade, « citrouille », bonne grosse couche de caramel, finale en « citrouille » où le clou de girofle est bien présent, légèrement sucrée, très légèrement houblonnée, assez carbonatée; en résumé : ordinaire

Bottle. Clear reddish amber pour with a huge beige head. Spicy aroma of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and clove. Caramel flavor up front with cinnamon, ginger and clove. My only problem with this beer is that the spice leaves your tongue too quickly and your left with a somewhat watery finish.

12oz bottle. Fitered amber-brown color, respectable creamy head. The pumpkin pie spice aroma is a little subdued, but still discernable. Medium bodied and malty, with some crisp astringent hop and spice notes upfront before fading into sweet maltiness. A touch too grassy and soapy in the bitterness, doesnt quite match or compement the pumpkin pie spiciness in my opinion. OK, tame pumpkin beer.

Bottle, from Rahman. Pours ruby-brown with a white head that dissipates to mere lacing within the minute. Aroma of canned pumpkin and spice, cumin, and caramel malt. Flavor is a light and crisp blend of soft pumpkin, soil and malt. Reminds me of an Alt with pumpkin flavor, with a spiced, sweet finish. Overall, not a special variation on a fall pumpkin beer, but as is usual for St. Ambroise, Citrouille is a decently-crafted offering nonetheless.

Bottle from metro Joanette Poured a gorgeous deep burnished copper color with an excellent creamy tan cap. Aroma is phenomenal....like liquid pumpkin pie...malts, pumpkin, spices and light sweetness...delicious! Tastes pretty much like it smells..malty sweetness with pumpkin flavors and spice/hop astringence to balance, develops some earthy-mustiness in the middle...slightly drying finish with a wonderful pumpkin pie after taste. Of the pumpkin beers I’ve tried this is undoubtedly the best.
