355 ml from a 4-pack bought at Marche Jovi, served cool in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear, medium copper, small light tan head. Aroma: As expected, a big noseful of ginger, cloves and allspice, some cinnamon, I guess too; definite bubblegum esters, fruitiness, some medium-roasted malts; more of a spice cake than a pumpkin pie. Palate: Medium body, slightly oily, medium yet sharp effervescence. Flav.: Tons of all the spices come through, as does the caramel/toffee cakey malts; really tastes like a spice cookie or spice cake; the flavour follows the aroma, which is often not the case with these beers; a bit sweet with almost no bitterness ; light acid brightness and only light spice residuals.

Normally not a fan of these beers, but I didn’t mind this one. Would have liked to get one of the gift packs shown in the pic!

Sampled at a Mead, Cider, and Beer Tasting sponsored by Binny’s Beverage Depot in Glen Ellyn, IL. Poured to my wine/sampler glass a clear, deep brownish amber with off white, fine bubbled foam and fair lacing. The aroma was caramelly sweetness and pie spices, with nutmeg high lighted. The flavor added to these a complimenting dryness, but the body was somewhat thin. Liked the deeper than average hue than most other pumpkin ales offer.

Great smell, smelt like a pumpkin pie (no surprise). Amber colour, silky smooth with some nice lacing. A little heavy on the pumpkin flavour, but not at all bad. I had the Great Lakes Pumpkin Ale earlier this week and it was similar only the smell was great but there was little discernable pumpkin flavour.

Dark copper with a trace of a head. Not much aroma. The spicy pumpkin really starts to come through in the finish. Different, but not bad.

pours ruby brown with a skin of white. strong clove nose. cinnamon is apparent also with a sweetness. tastes better than walt looksbut not as good as a sweaty embrace from lump. allspice or nutmeg is really strong at first with a minty clove finish. nice caramel slightly wheaty backbone flavor i’d love to try this beer without the spice, but a bit more ascertive hop. could be a good session. a nice spice beer that i’d happily drink again. thanks, paul. 4 5 6 3 13

Pours a clear dark orange color with a thin white head. Strong aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon and pumpkin. The flavor has more focus on the spices (nutmeg and cinnamon) than the pumpkin, it doesn’t have the balance that the aroma has and its definitely less interesting. The body is medium and oily while the carbonation is soft. Not bad but it could have been way better.
