McCann did a great job at ABR 2008, this beer included. Sweet malt, with lightly roasted malt in the flavor as well as sugar and fruit, and swet malt in the flavor with vanilla, and wood. Very sweet, with candy sugar and according to the description, other sugars as well.

One of my favorites during the ABR ’08 in Minneapolis, MN. Served on draught and pours a semi-clear amber brew with a thick off-white head that has excellent retention and lots of lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel, raisins, some candi sugar, vanilla and some light creme tartar. Taste is full bodied, a little syrupy, with flavors of sweet apples, caramel malt, some light cotton candy, and some vanilla. Finish has a nice sweet alcohol warmth and bite that will warm up any cool autumn night. Uuf da! Goot ’n strong best describe this special beer.

Autumn Brew Review 2008. Copper color with a medium head. Light oak aroma. Big caramelly malt flavor, plenty of toast and some biscuit notes. Oak and vanilla. Strong, sweet malt. Maybe a bit too much sweetness, but really tasty.

ABR 2008. A hazy light amber with a nice head. Aroma of caramel, raisins, and oak. Nice sweet flavor, a bit of an alcohol bite at the end.
