Aroma is strongly sweet and fruity, malty and brown sugary, with notes of golden raisin, toasty bread, honey, faint apple, pineapple, doughy yeast and faint spiciness. Translucent dark copper color with a very fine, lasting head. Flavor profile is very niecly balanced between the malty sweetness, fruitiness, hops and alcohol, all of these present in massive quantities, with some doughy touches here and there, honeyish and caramel malt sweetness, grapey fruits, peppery spice, alcoholic warmth, lingering bitterness and fresh hop flavors, all mingling together nicely. A true hybrid Strong Ale, seemingly, very flavorful. Low in carbonation, with a hugely full body, managing to avoid being sticky or syrupy. Perhaps the most inventive beer I’ve had yet from this brewer. Very impressive. I just wish I could find it at the brewpub! Still, it was nice to be able to self-dispense this stuff at the Fest all day. Good times! Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA

Pours a light, hazy copper-orange with a thin, beige head that diminishes to a ring of bubbles clinging to the side of the glass. The nose is nice and malty, much like an American barley wine, dark fruits (raisin, plum, etc) with a light piny hop note in the background. Medium-bodied and oily with a pleasant, lightly dry and bitter finish. Sweet dark fruit up front with deep, dark caramel undertones transition into a lightly spiced, piny hop finish. This beer was probably my favorite of the day. I will definitely have to plan a trip to McCoy’s soon. tjthresh (1769), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

Pours this red/orange/brown color. Looked good though.
Citricy aromas of orange and tangerine, with some caramel maltiness.
Toffee, chocolate, and a bit of roast. Pine background.
Full body. Syrupy, but drinkable. Medium carbonation. Sweetish finish.
Damn fine beer. goldtwins (4080), Nesconset, New York, USA

Poured lightly hazed copper color with an off-white head. The aroma was of citrus and pine with a thick sweet malt. Some browned apple flesh. The alcohol is very well hidden. The flavor was full of citrus hops. Big and very fresh tasting. Very drinkable. kp (8399), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
