topherh (878), Kearney, Missouri, USA May 21, 2009 On tap at the KC MCCoys. Hazy pour with a big lingering white head. Lots of hops and bananas in the nose. Taste was lots of yest and bananas and then a big hoppy bitter finish. Pawola22 (676), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Apr 6, 2009 On tap at McCoys brewpub in KC. Pours a hazy golden orange body with a fluffy, two-finger width, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a good amount of lacing on the glass. Aroma is an IPA with a Belgian twist (obviously). A nice mix between citrusy and earthy hops and a Belgian yeastiness. Banana maltiness. Flavor is a nice mixture between the two as well. I’m liking this. Tastes like their IPA, but with a distinct Belgian yeast strain. Fruity bananas mix very well with the almost sharp citrus hops. Good amount of malts to balance this out and a clean finish. Medium bodied. Overall, I’m pretty impressed. It was served a little too cold, but as it warmed, the flavors really started to blend nicely. I look forward to trying this again shortly.
