Pours clear yellow-gold with little head or lacing. As one might expect with this style, there is almost no aroma or flavor. Very clean finish. Light-bodied and moderate carbonation. Obviously brewed for the beer drinker that doesn’t like beer. tjthresh (1779), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Dec 3, 2005 Served crystal clear straw colored with a snow white head. Some visable carbonation. Grainy corney aroma. Some grainy sweetness. No hop flavor or aroma at all. Pretty smooth. Decent body. McCoy’s serves BMC bottles. Why on earth do they make this beer? That would about sum it up.
I didn’t care for this, it would have been an average to below average macro at best, and not anything I would expect any self appreciating micro to produce.
It had some nice carbonation and a good look to it, but all macros do, I wanted something more. Some corn flavors, but not much of anything Braudog (3773), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 12, 2005 An active yellow beer that’s very "Miller Light-y" ... light corn malt, medium starchiness. Why bother ... the two chippies next to me were still drinking macroswill in the bottle, so who’s buying this? SledgeJr (2970), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 7, 2003 This more closely resembles an American Light beer than it does any Kolsch that I have had. Corn flavours are evident and this one should be saved for the BMC drinkers. OldJack99 (114), USA

There are plenty of ’regular’ bars out there that serve ’beer,’ as they call it, that tastes just like this (funny how I used the word ’taste’). But in their defense, at least McCoy’s offers a good selection of other, better beers to choose from. I didn’t really find Landing Light appealing in any way. I suppose, if you were comparing really light beers to one another, this one wouldn’t be too bad; and I’d say they did a good job at making a light-tasting, easier-to-drink-than-water beer.
