The aroma was potatoes and grass. There was also a black pepper hint. The taste was bitter potato peels and some black pepper spice. A little bit of bell pepper. Nice and relatively hoppy. theisti (1674), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 19, 2008 Pint draft at the Foundry, which is basically the back bar of the McCoy’s Brewpub iun Kansas City, Missouri. Pour is clear golden, with a smallish white head. Aroma of malt and some grassy hops. Very soft and delicate nose, though very clean. Taste is grassy, malty, a little dirty. A lot of character for a Pils, and really well made. Palate has nice body, a good unfiltered pils feel to it. Clean finish. Nice one, McCoys is done some nice beers recently. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 4, 2005 Unfiltered gold wearing a gentle white head. Soft bready malts dance all over the oily spicy and floral Saaz-like hops. Linear evolution from sweet to dry procures a feeling of accomplishment and good execution, but the finish comes surprisingly fast and leave us with not much to enjoy. A dead-on interpretation that doesn’t even leave the line enough to leave me with a marking souvenir. tjthresh (1775), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

This beer features a bery nice Saaz aroma with some malt sweetness to back it up. Served with no head, the beer is straw yellow with some orange-ish highlights. Very will balacnced between the Saaz bitterness and malt backbone. Medium bodied with livley carbonation. The entire time I was dinking it I was thinking to myself "So that’s what a fresh Cezch Pils tastes like". Indra (2030), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 13, 2004 Spicy, perfumy hop fragrance, green and lightly floral, with a small amount of white breadiness and malt sweetness. Light-medium golden color, very lightly hazy, with a slight head but fair lacing. Flavor is largely dominated by the Saaz, ppery, spicy and flowery, with a faint amount of countering maltiness towards the exceedingly dry finish. Lingering hop resins. Medium bitterness overall and rather slight effervescence, with a nicely smooth palate and light-medium body. Surprisingly tasty and refreshing; made for an excellent apéritif.

Effervescent with a gold and straw colour, the juicy Saaz hop aroma takes you by suprise. The taste is phenomenal as it brings memories of my first glass of Urquell. This is not as delicate as that famous pilsner but IMHO it is more pleasurable.
