heemer77 (3634), Savannah, Missouri, USA Dec 27, 2006 On tap at the brewpub. The body was very dark and nearly black. There was a shoe leather brown head on top. The aroma was chocolate with almond bark and some sweet corn. The taste was lightly roasted coffee with some dark chocolate. The body was fairly thin. tjthresh (1275), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Dec 3, 2005 Served with a dense light brown head. Dark opaque brown. Very rich looking. Some lace. Chocolate milk, mocha, light fruity esters, woody/smokey. Quite roasty with chocolate and black malt bitterness. Medium body. Carbonation was kind of rough. Coats the mouth nicely. Very nice robust porter. Indra (1826), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Mar 13, 2004 Appealing aroma of chocolate, toffee, roasty malt, juicy, citrusy hop and even some faint yeast -- very much a robust/sharp porter. Fairly solid ebony color, with a very attractive, fine, lasting head and equally fine lacing. Flavor is a well-blended conjunction of chocolate, roasty, grainy maltiness, molasses, coffee, and spicy, citric hop flavor with a moderate amount of bitterness. Dry finish, lingering chocolate flavor. Medium bodied, with a bittering, creamy mouthfeel. Very nicely balanced indeed. Skillful rendition of an American Porter, easily rivalling Boulevard.
