Having had a few disappointing British bottled beers recently, this was a real surprise. Exceptional flavour, wonderful balance: sweet, bitter, rich. What more can a man ask for? This is the finest British beer I have had in a good while.

Bottle: Dark clear red colour, with a werry nice creamy head. Aroma of werry sweet, caramel, some citric and flowerry ending. flavor is almost the same, but has a alcy/sweet caramel mouth feeling. Medium body, and a sweet/malty/alcy mouth feeling. Some raisins in the end. Medium finish here.

Bottle. Malty hopypy and creamy aromas with alcohol and spicy undertones. Pours an opaque brownish red coloured beer with a beige foam head. Soft mouthfeel, creamy, some oily texture. Taste is sweet, very hoppy. Some carbonation, spice, aclohol and hoppy finish. Quite tasty although the alcohol content begins to wear thin once the beer has warmed up some.

Fantastic rich dark brown colour with a thick long lasting head with good lacing. Great malty chocolate aroma. Tastes is sweet and biscuity which is nicely balanced by a slightly bitter finish. This may be too much beer for some but I love it. This is one of my new favourites.

Beautiful dark brown color with a thin lacey head. Wonderfully drinkable taste in the mouth, that went down smooth. However, this gave way to a hard, bitter aftertaste that was just too much for me. For those who like this style of beer, you will probably think this is a winner. For me, I would only take it on tap when sitting down with a jolly Brit.

Bottle. Clear medium to dark red brown color with a large, frothy, excellent / good lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, chocolate, fruity. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. (Chocolate and coffee malt bitter) Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (221207)

Pours a stunning deep mahogany colour with lasting creamy head. Aroma is of alcohol, brown toasty bread and dark sour fruit. Feels lovely on the palate with a medium sweet malty body. Hints at some chocolate but then it goes before the subtle hops. Flavour lingers for a few seconds. Very drinkable.
