A red beer with a beutiful head. The aroma is of slightly sour malt (brewing cereal?). The flavor though is sweet with primary notes of caramel. An OK beer.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, orangey brown with a creamy, off-white head. Malty, roasted nose. Full-bodied with lots of roasted malt, some caramel and a bitter finish. Quite some alcohol also. Slightly disappointing. Thanks to Kasper for bringing this home from Scotland. 300406

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber to hazzlenut brown with a lacing off-white head. Mild spiced and solid roasted malty aroma. Dark breadish roasted flavour yet with a distinct sweetness and toasted caramelish note. Dark and roasted into the finish with a declining sweetness. Malty sweet finish. Nice one.

Dark amber color. Fruity malt aroma, light. Medium body strength, a bit oily; loads of caramel, some malt, some alcohol impression. Drinkable.

1. Bottle 04/09/2003 Amber coloured strong in alcohol with some fruit flavour. Slightly bitter lasting malt finish. 2. Bottle 24/01/2004 Mid to dark brown coloured and sweet on the palate. Strong alcohol gives a warming finish which is slightly bitter and full of malt. 3. Bottle 14/06/2004 Mid brown coloured with some alcohol present. Fruity flavour. Slightly bitter full malt finish.

Bottle Sainsburys. Ruby beer with dark choc malts and dark fruit. Dark syrup and molasses/treacle/sweetness throughout especially on palate with some hop on the end. Bit sickly for me.2.9/5.0 Re-rate. Hot alcohol and malt aroma. Malt has a bit of coffee, malt loaf. Fairly simple, very malty beer, that has good smoothness and some spicy dryness too. Some more coffee and raisin in mouth. I rather like the dry malt, raisin, hop finish.
