Jan 15, 2006 If this is a bitter why is it labeled as an IPA? I ordered this in a bar last night and expected IPA aroma and taste and was disappointed. The hops aroma was mild and uninteresting. A thin malty flavor and a little caramel with a dry finish. It doesn’t suck but it really doesn’t hold my attention. I expected more from the land of Scotland, William Wallace would be embarrassed by this.

Golden brown. Malty sweet aroma, very friendly. Sweet flavor with a light bitter finish. Watery.

Dec 29, 2005 Brownish pour with a light malty sweet nose. Palate is thin and creamy. Flavor starts fruit sweet with a medium hop presence and ends frothy, chalky dry. Cleary IPA is used in different terms than Americans intend it. Drinkable and decent, just odd in a less than positive way.

Dec 24, 2005 Pours a nice amber/orange color. Aromas of nice caramel/citrus. Flavor starts malty and the hops kick in, nice crisp bitter finish.

Dec 17, 2005 It had some IPAish qualities in the aftertaste but much of the flavor was pretty light which made me wonder how it became labelled an IPA in the first place. There are some nice sweet qualities here with some spices kicking but not enough all around.

Dec 17, 2005 Bottled. Clear medium amber pour with a short-lived whitish head. Spicy aroma with caramel malt and some floral hoppage. Spicy malts on the flavor with some floral hop backing and caramel hop presence. Smooth on the palate with light bitterness and spices around the edges. Nice and tasty, but more like a mild, less complex version of a Belgian brown ale than an IPA or bitter.

Dec 14, 2005 Bottled. Dark copper coloured, small foamy white head. Fruity aroma with some hoppy hints. Flavour quite sweet hoppy bitterish. Not much IPA in this one, rather a very sweet bitter... Long hoppy aftertaste with some caramellish and hayish hints. Toffee in aftertaste too.
