Bottle. This lightweight English style IPA pours a clear dark amber under a nice initial frothy off-white head, but dissapates quickly. Nose is mostly that of restrained roasted malts, wood and caramel. Mouthfeel is quite thin and watery for this style. Flavors of sweet malt, toast, wood and some smokiness are noted but also very restrained and faint. A mild hop bitterness makes a brief appearance in the finish. In the end a forgettable English IPA.

On tap. Pours dark amber with a good size head. Malts dominate with the slightly bitter hops in the background. There are burnt undertones on the finish which mesh well with the beer as a whole. Not sure what style this is trying to be but I did find it kind of unique and enjoyable (apperently I am one of the few).

Bottle. Pored dark amber with an average creamy white head that was lasting. Average sweet citrus aroma. Light to medium body. Moderate sweet malty flavor with an average finish. Weak for style and brewer.

Copper brown, small off-white head. Woody, burnt caramelly aroma. Toffeeish, burnt flavor. Light, sweetish aftertaste. Only IPA by its name.

Draught at The Flying Saucer in Raleigh, NC. My first Scottish rendition of an IPA was suprisingly not appealing. I would have though that they would get it right across the pond. If this is more true to style then I don’t like the style. Clear amber color with lasting off white head. No nose to speak of. Where are the hops? Metallic grainy flavor without much hop flavor or bitterness. Not good.

None of the hoppiness that is expected with an ipa. kind of like a john courage light, if there is one. not totally unpleasant, just not what i thought it would be.

Suprisingly headless and not an IPA at all. And not that good either. Very malty, thina and a little metallic in the end. This si really pretty bad. And the "caramel" isn’t there either.

33 cl bottle. No yeast in bottom. Brown colour with a creamy haed.Very bitter aroma of hops. Flavour of malt and some smokedness also very hoppy with a bitter and dry finish.
