Apr 17, 2005 Bottle. This one looks great, it pours deep, clear copper color with a large and creamy off-white head that lingers well leaving nice lacing. Aroma is biscuity, sweet with floral and herb notes. Flavor is kind of astringent-sweet, earthy and spicy - not my favorite. Light to medium body with gentle carbonation.

Apr 17, 2005 Carbonated and almost nut brown pour with an offwhite head. The aroma mostly malt. Mostly malt on the flavor as well. There are some hoppy notes in the flavor but not as much as the American IPAs that I have tasted. It goes down smooth with a little carbonation at the end. Not an outstanding IPA by any means but interesting to try one from Scotland I guess.

Mar 12, 2005 Very English IPA, meaning not hoppy. Clean and soft malts very lite mouthfeel with some toast notes. Very grassy not resinous hop quality low bitterness. If you are not used to English IPAs you will wonder whwer the hops are.

Mar 11, 2005 This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to medium sized off-white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a softly carbonated transparent brown colored body and a good lacing. The aroma contained notes of mild malts hops and light brown beer dark malts. The tingly mouth feel contained mild bitter and malty notes. I felt it a typical English IPA with a more crisp tingly mouth than its hoppy American counter parts. The flavor was mild with a bitter malt content and was missing a notable hop content.

Mar 6, 2005 Amber with a quickly disappearing beige head. Some fruit and toffee in the aroma. A little buttery hops and caramel in the taste. Aftertaste is weak and sweet with allmost no hops. An average bitter, IMHO not an IPA.

Mar 5, 2005 Tap. Well, I expected an IPA and was let down completely. The beer is better represented by the bitter category it is listed under here. Deep amber colored. Off-white head is foamy and leaves great lacing. Completely lacking in hop aroma and flavor for an IPA. Thin bodied. For a bitter it is fair, for an IPA it is outclassed by about every IPA I have tried.
