The aroma of hops is little and there is a slight smokiness. The flavor has almost no hops to be detected but there is a malty flavor and a touch of smoke at the finish. I thought IPA’s were supposed to be a bit higher in ABV?! This is easy to drink but nothin special. May explain why it was at the BB date and on sale for $7 a six. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 23, 2006 Nice looking beer. Deep brown with big white head and largish bubbles. Aroma is grassy, and common, and rather like an IPA.Taste is crap, and not readily identifiable as anything like an IPA, but I guess that serves me right for trying an IPA from Scotland of all places. A disaster at $1.80/12oz Delirium (499), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 17, 2006 Updated: Nov 10, 2006Bottle. Pours dark clear brown with a light white head. Aroma is sweet grainy malt, plus an odd sour note. Flavor is less sweet but still grainy malt, noticeable carbonation-induced bitterness, and a light bit of bittering hops. Definitely not an IPA despite the label; ratebeer’s categorization as a Bitter seems reasonable to me. A pretty decent Bitter, if you weren’t expecting an IPA, and cheap at $6/sixpack here (Atlanta). This beer is kind of odd, really---I "know" it isn’t really good, but there’s something slightly unusual I like about it for a cheap/session sort of beer. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 9, 2006 A lighter bodied IPA with above average carbonation to make up for it. But still drinkable and passable for the style. There is bitterness there and some malt, but also on the watery side. Bit of acidity there. Fine at the end of a summer day.Moderate aroma of hops.
