This beer is amazing. I shouldn’t have to say anymore than that, but I will. Very smooth, everything about this beer is sweet and delicious from start to finish. The aroma is of chocolate and a slight hint of fruit and caramel. This is a good one to drink by the fire on a snowed in winter storm day. You can’t leave the house so you might as well drink yourself into oblivion with this awesome beer.

Gorgeous amber brown with a rich head. This is a full thick beer. An amazing tasting beer. Has caramael butterscotch aroma. Complex for this style. Malty as expected with a warm roastiness at 8%. This one just works well. I would love to sample a draught

This is a really nice, smooth, and easy-to-drink wee heavy. It’s very dark red brown almost black, with a medium tan head that is very long-lasting and never entirely vanishes. It leaves some icicle-like lacing in even rings. The aroma is sweet brown bread, butter, caramel, caramleized pruines, a little wheat bread, and a hnin of wine. The taste is nice - rich, full-bodied, yet mellow and smooth. It has qualities of qwine, fruit, especially cheries, toast, a hint of chocolate, spices. It’s zesty and smooth, the alcohol adds a nice, full warmth without being too strong or noticeable, leaving it very easy to drink.

Bottle and served in my La Chouffe glass (since I have yet to replace my broken Thistle), one of those beers you swore you rated but never did:

Pours a deep russet brown topped by a nice beige head which left good lace upon the glassware. The aroma has notes of caramel, brown sugar, dried raisin and plum, earthy yeast, herbal hop, and a hint of smoked peat moss. The taste starts sweet and fruity, think caramel covered golden raisins. The midsection is bready and yeasty before heading off towards a moderate spicy and earthy finish. The mouth feel is medium-bodied and slightly aggressive. Not as sticky as the flavor profile would make you believe. A solid classic still but not in the class of some the new American examples which feature a tad bit more aggressiveness on the palate.

Clear dark brown with a medium off-white head. Very sweet aroma of toffee, caramel and brown sugar. Taste of caramel, sweet malt, sugar that leaves a sugary aftertaste. A little sticky but decent.

Very deep dark brown in color with a nice head that dissapated quickly. Aroma is almost like that of dark raisin bread. Flavor definitley has a spicy dried fruit (rasin and prune) component to it. A little flat on the palate. Overall, I’m not that big of a fan of the sweetness. It’s probably good to drink during the holidays when spices and flavors such as this are in season.
