| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 27, 2008 Malty, smooth, rich, and creamy. I like this Ale a lot. I kind of forgot about this beer when I was rating Belhaven, but I think this one is better. Most beers from this region are decent beers. I wish I lived in Great Britain. fishingnet (1047), Brandon, Florida, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Mar 24, 2008 A beer that is dark liquidy brown in appearance. Pours with no fuss, (little yeast) Only a small less than 1 inch light tan head remains, that dimishes after 10 minutes. The ale is not cloudy, but almost too dark to see through, though you barely can. It’s most powerful aroma is of carmel, then alcohol, then peatty smoke. The draw excites all the tastesbuds. It’s sweet and toffee-like, and smooth, and finishes with a little citrus zest, unnaturally. Then the aftertaste of smoky caramel remains. The beer gives off a little burn in the chest almost a minute later. This seems like it would be a good warming ale during the winter. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA
