A dark nutbrown beer with a fine but fast diappearing lightbrown head. The aroma is very sweet with no complexity. The flavor is malty sweet with notes of roasted malt but no bitterness. It is very strong and very sweet for a Schottish ale. Too sweet and simple for me.

I tried this beer on January 11, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto. The beer poured a dark brown colour with a creamy tan coloured head. The aroma was rather weak with some fruity hints. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with mild carbonation. The flavour had some malt taste up front with some grass and maple flavourings added to the mix.

Pours a transparent dark copper mahogany with a spotty-lacing froth of light tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel and light fruity tartness with a hint of smoky peat. Body starts with good fullness and rich caramel malty sweetness balanced with some light and dark fruity complexity toward a sticky finish with lingering earthy peaty notes. A nice Scotch ale.

The most striking feature about this beer is its very high alcohol content. That being said, the beer has a rich, sweet flavor that helps mask it. Pours a dark opaque brown color with little head. Aroma is light but sweet, with very little hops evident. Palate is good and it almost tastes like caramel going down. Good option if you want a strong beer- I wouldnt recommed drinking more than one however as it can be burdensome.

very strong alcohol% and that’s a good thing. This beer smells the same as it tastes. It’s sweet but at the same time has a strong bold taste and goes down easy with no bad after taste.

Has a sweet sticky taste that masks the high alcohol content very well. Feels very full in the mouth.

Dark brown ale with a disappearing light brown head. Aroma is caramel and roasted malt. Caramel, roasted flavor. Smooth mouthfeel. No discernible hop. Finish is sweet with alcohol warmth.
