Bottle. Brown pour, no lace. Smooth flavor, malt heavy. Enjoyable but expected a bit more.

Smokey, caramel aroma. Pours a dark brown. Smooth flavor, caramel, and peat, like a weak scotch, yet oily.

this beer is not great, it’s a decent scotch ale but it’s maltiness is slightly weird tasting

i was very impressed with this. Pours a dark brown, semi-transparent with no head. Very malt oriented aroma with hints of toffee and some dark cherries. Decent mouth feel, not as full as expected. Has this strange astringency that was actually quite nice. Very malty with some caramel aspects. Very dry.

Sampled in Glasgow. Has a nice flavor with a hint of smoked scotch due to teh chocolate and carmel body. A refreshing change from Tennants.

Bottled. Malty and fruitcake like aroma. Pours with a dark crimson colour and nice head. Full bodied, rich flavours with fruitcake, chocolate and some subtle nutty notes. A warm and sweet malty finish. Very enjoyable.

This was my first Scotch Ale and it was almost overwhelming. Pours clear brown with a ruby tint. It had a nice creamy pinkish head. Very strong aromas of smoke, wood, scotch, and call me crazy but I detected a tropical pineapple/coconut whiff as well. It has a very malty alcoholic taste with a heavy chewey mouthfeel. Bring a fork and knife while tasting this one. Although this is not my favorite, I appreciate it for what it is, a mans beer. Gaurenteed to grow some hair under your kilt.

Dark brown, with a good brown head. Aroma of plum and bready. Taste is slighty alcoholy. Breadiness that fills the mouth with a slight plum taste as well.
